After the Falls
The sequel to my memoir Too Close to the Falls is out in Canada (Knopf-Random House), and will be released in the US in November 2010 (Penguin). After the Falls covers my life from the ages of 13-21.
The setting is the 60’s. The reader is whisked through my hapless teenage years when I tooled around Buffalo’s suburbs in my parents’ 409 Impala convertible with the Beach Boys blaring on the radio, into the late 60’s when cities were burning, my college graduation was cancelled due to riots, the FBI investigated me, and I had to leave the country. Too Close to the Falls
Too Close to the Falls is a memoir of my life from four to fourteen in Lewiston, New York, small town America in the 1950's. Medically diagnosed as "hyper" (I was a pioneer in the field), the medical specialists decided I needed a full time job at age of four. The memoir is from the point of view of the youngest working girl.
