HI EVERYONE!

The paperback of AFTER THE FALLS was released onOctober 25th.

I'm just back from my U.S tour to publicize my paperback. I had a great time in Boston recently. One of the great joys of having written a memoir is that there are real people in it. The girl who was my best friend in the book in the 60's (Leora) is, over 50 years later, still my best friend! She lives and works in Boston as a researcher. She popped off the page as Louise Greenberg and, kind as always, arranged almost a week's worth of book clubs for After the Falls. Here is a picture of us together. I am the one who looks like Marilyn Monroe adn she looks like Sophia Loren (delusion never rests). Still BFF.

The Boston Globe
praised my new book saying
"Gildiner takes second trip to 'The Falls'– '60s memoir is powerful, personal"

Sequels sometimes make you wish the author had quit while ahead, but Catherine Gildiner's playful, puckish, and moving follow-up to her memoir "Too Close to the Falls'' is downright irresistible

"After the Falls'' introduces us to Gildiner's deeply personal vision of the tumultuous '60s. Backed with a cornucopia of culture images, from the Kennedy assassination to the Vietnam War, Gildiner provides a pitch-perfect soundtrack, everything from the heart-pounding time she watched the Beatles' first appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show'' to the protest songs of Joan Baez. --Caroline Leavitt
