After the Falls The sequel to my memoir Too Close to the Falls is coming out in October 2009, published by Knopf-Random House. The title is After the Falls and it covers my life from the ages of 13-21.
The setting is the 60’s. The reader is whisked through my hapless teenage years when I tooled around Buffalo’s suburbs in my parents’ peacock blue 409 Impala convertible with the Beach Boys blaring on the radio, into the late 60’s when cities were burning, my college graduation was cancelled due to riots, the FBI investigated me, and I had to leave the country. Don’t believe Darwin who said it takes eons to evolve into another species. I did it in less than a decade.
Going Green This year my film short won third place at the 2008 Creemore Mocks Film Festival. I was also awarded Best Actress. Going Green...
It's Sooo Country... My film short recently won the Best in Show category at the 2007 Creemore Mocks Film Fest. Take a look at life in the country as I see it. It's Sooo Country...
Die Zeit and Seduction Good news from Germany about Seduction. I am really pleased that Seduction has been a real hit in Germany. In fact, the famous weekly Die Zeit, will issue a special crime series about twelve selected titles, one of which is Seduction. Each selection has a scientific background, e.g. mathematics, philosophy, psychology, linguistics, forensics, etc. For each book, the Zeit editors will contribute supplementary info material that relates to the respective scientific field and the genre of suspense literature. Die Zeit has published such one-time book series with a specific focus before, very successfully. Other authors published in the series in the past include Ken Follett, Martin Suter and Adam Fawer. I am of course thrilled to be in the company of these 'thriller giants'. Auf Wiedersehen!
The Loafers: My contribution to The First Man in My Life Sandra Martin, well-known literary critic, has edited an anthology of original pieces about fathers and daughters for Penguin Canada. The First Man in My Life contains 22 narratives about a memory, a secret or an insight that made each contributor see her father in a new light or with a deeper understanding. The publication date is May 19, 2007, just in time for Father's Day. My contribution is a piece called The Loafers.
